Switching from Untappd?

Everything Untappd does. None of the beer-only restrictions.

Untappd for Business runs $899–$1,199 / year (≈ $75–100 / mo). Their top tier handles non-beer items, but the lower tiers push beer front and center. Slate charges the same price for every menu type, food, cocktails, coffee, retail.

No card required. We build your board as part of setup.

What Untappd is genuinely good at: the consumer app. Millions of beer drinkers use Untappd to check in, discover beers, and leave reviews. If your customers are already in that app and you want your tap list to show up in their check-in feed, that's a real distribution advantage Slate doesn't replicate. If you're deciding between the two, it's worth naming honestly: Untappd for Business is the right choice if that consumer tie-in is your primary goal. If your goal is full-menu control, a board that looks like your place hired a designer, and pricing you can afford on more than one screen, that's where Slate is the better fit.

Switching is easier than you think.

You don't have to cancel anything first. Run both for two weeks and make the call when you're confident.

1

Free two-week pilot on one screen, your real menu, no card required.

We set up your first screen with your actual content. If it's not obviously better, unplug it, you owe nothing. We absorb the setup work either way.

2

We rebuild your board from what you already have.

Send us your current menu, a photo of your space, and your logo. Our designer builds the board and tunes it with you until it's right. You're not starting from scratch on a template.

3

Cancel Untappd whenever you're ready, no overlap required, no downtime.

Run them side by side during the pilot. When you're confident, cancel Untappd at the next renewal. Your Slate screens stay live the whole time.

Questions about switching.

Do I have to cancel Untappd before I start?

No. Start the pilot while Untappd is still active, run them alongside each other for the two weeks. Cancel Untappd when you're ready. There's no technical dependency between the two, and Slate screens work whether or not you have an Untappd account.

Will I lose my menu data?

No. We rebuild your board as part of setup, send us your current menu in any format (a photo, a PDF, a spreadsheet, even a text list) and our designer turns it into a live board. If your menu is already in Untappd, export it or screenshot it and we'll take it from there.

What if I have both beer and food?

That's the whole point. On Slate, every item type, beer, food, cocktails, coffee, retail, gets the same layout options, the same live editing, and the same pricing tier. You're not paying extra to show your full menu.

Is there a contract?

No. Month-to-month on both plans. Cancel anytime, billing stops at the end of your current period. Annual billing saves you two months' cost, but it's optional, not required.

Try it free before you decide anything.

One screen, your real menu, two weeks. We build the board. You evaluate. If it's not obviously better than what you have, walk away and owe nothing.
